WHO WE ARE
Lowveld House and Pet Sitters (Formerly Lowveld House Sitting Agency) was founded in 2012, by the late Ludi Botha, an aspiring pet lover, and renowned for his involvement in Radio Laeveld
The agency has since cared for over 1000's of pets, developing into a centred hub for pet lovers that dedicate time to care for the pets of others.

How do you Vet your sitters?
Before a Sitter is allowed to take on sits, we first interview them, gather previous references and contact them, and meet them in person.
We ensure we have enough references or proof that they care for pets and are honest people, and we run the necessary background checks or criminal record checks
Is my home secure during the sit?
With the high crime rate in South Africa, Lowveld House & Pet Sitters are integrated with a emergency response network to ensure we have access to all security companies to assist in the event of security risk.
Additionally, our sitters ensure they keep all doors locked, access limited, and security steps adhered to ensure maximum safety for your home
What if there is an emergency with my pet?
In case of emergency, the sitter and the agency immediately follow pre-planned options. in case of medical pet emergencies, the sitter will attempt to contact you immediately, if unsuccessful, the sitter will rush the pet to a vet-clinic.
What if my pet has a medical condition?
Our sitters are trained in-house to administer medication/injections to pets, calm them in event of anxiety, and treat basic wounds.
We have, in the past, cared for pets with motor ability issues, diabetes, impaired senses and anxiety, and take extra care to ensure they are safe and comfortable when their parents travel.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Make a Booking
Submit your dates via our form. We immediately update our calendar and reach out to our Lowveld sitters to confirm availability.
2. Sitter Connection
Once a sitter claims the sit, we introduce you! They will contact you directly to set up a friendly Meet & Greet at your home.
3. Preparation & Invoice
We send over your invoice and our Preparation Guide. A deposit is only required for long stays or December bookings.
4. The Meet & Greet
Your sitter visits to meet the pets and learn your home’s routine. This is the perfect time to hand over keys and discuss special needs.
5. The Sit Starts
You head off on your travels while your sitter moves in to keep your home safe and your pets happy in their own environment.
6. Updates & Smiles
Stay connected with photos and updates. Your pets get fed on time and plenty of love while you’re away.
7. Welcome Home
When you return, we’ll check in to ensure everything was perfect. We love hearing about your experience with our sitters!
8. Easy Final Payment
Your final balance is only due 7 days after the sit. Pay easily via bank transfer or our secure online portal (Safe checkout).
