Welcome to KatiKati Eco Lodge, nestled amid the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains on the eastern escarpment of Mpumalanga, South Africa. As the name KatiKati suggests, we exist in a unique place, embracing the essence of "in between".
We are ideally situated between the Kruger National Park and the picturesque Panorama Tourism Route, offering you a gateway to discover the region's most captivating wonders. Close enough to town to enjoy all the attractions, activities and amenities offered by city life, but in a quiet valley where the tranquil sound of nature is all you hear.
As we evolve, we embrace sustainable growth and eco-consciousness. Witness the transformation of our lodge as we diligently work towards constructing and enhancing more eco-friendly units as well as a small events-venue, enveloped by a tranquil garden adorned with indigenous trees. Committed to preserving our environment, we aspire to become entirely self-sufficient and off-the-grid in terms of energy supply and recycling of waste, while restoring nature on the farm.

Swahili is the original language from which most African indigenous languages originated. KatiKati is the Swahili word for “in between”. This state of mind and being applies to our eco lodge on many different levels.

Unit #1
Studio unit accommodating 2 persons
This unit is a studio apartment, accommodating a maximum of 2 persons. It contains a double bed, lounge area, kitchenette, private bathroom with a shower and a veranda with braai facilities.
The kitchenette is equipped with all the essentials to prepare simple meals and snacks, including a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and one-plate induction stove with the necessary cookware, cutlery and crockery. Prepare a delicious breakfast to savor on your private veranda, enjoying the breathtaking view of the valley.
Breathe in the crisp, fresh air as you enjoy your morning coffee or indulge in an evening barbeque, courtesy of the braai facilities and outdoor furniture available on the veranda.
Unit #2
Studio unit accommodating max 3 persons
Accommodating up to three guests, unit #2 is an open plan space, furnished with a double bed and a single bed-size daybed in the lounge area.
The kitchenette is equipped with the essentials for basic food preparation, including a fridge, 2-plate stove, microwave oven, kettle, toaster as well as cookware, cutlery and crockery.
A private bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin is available and bath towels are supplied.
The private veranda offers a view on the garden, outdoor furniture and barbeque facilities, where you can enjoy a braai in privacy, surrounded by birdsong.
Unit #3
2-bedroom unit accommodating 4 to 5 persons (temporarily not available)
This unit is a double-story, 2-bedroom unit, with 2 single beds in each bedroom. The rooms can accommodate 2 persons each in either the 2 single beds or in a King sized bed. is a block description.
The main bedroom has an en suite bathroom, containing a shower. There is another bathroom (with shower only) to be shared by all occupants of the unit.
On the ground floor is a dining room, lounge and open plan kitchen. This room opens up to a veranda, facing the swimming pool area and view to the west.
Unit #6
4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom unit accommodating up to 12 persons
Our 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom unit can accommodate a generous group of 12 guests. This double-story unit provides ample room for everyone to revel in comfort and relaxation.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and two more bedrooms are available on the upper floor. Three of the rooms are furnished with two single or 3/4 beds. One of the bedrooms on the upper floor is furnished with three 3/4 beds. Also on the upper floor is the open loft, where three more single beds are, offering additional sleeping space for larger groups. Please take note that sleepers in these three beds in the loft do not have privacy and are generally meant to accommodate children.
One of the upper-floor bedrooms boasts a private en-suite bathroom, with a bath and basin, adding a little touch of convenience. The beds in this room can be converted into a king-sized bed.
The shared bathroom on the upper floor has a shower, corner bath, toilet and basin. Another bathroom on the ground floor has a large shower, toilet and basin. Both these bathrooms are shared by all occupants of the unit.
On the ground floor is a spacious lounge where you can gather with your companions to enjoy a variety of board games, relax with a book from our small library or watch a movie on the large, flatscreen TV. Please take note that the HD-TV is not connected to any service provider but can be connected to a laptop or external hard drive. Please bring along your own movies.
The covered veranda offers barbeque and cooking facilities to prepare basic meals. A fridge, microwave oven, 2-plate gas stove and ample cookware, utensils, glassware, cutlery and crockery are available for your convenience.
The veranda is open to picturesque views of the garden and swimming pool area and a welcoming dining table and braai facilities create the opportunity to enjoy each others' company while preparing meals.

Unit #8
2 bedroom unit accommodating 3 to 4 persons (temporarily not available)
This unit has one large main bedroom and another smaller bedroom. Two sleeping options are available for the main bedroom - either two 3/4 beds or one extra king-sized bed.
There is a single bed in the smaller bedroom. The lounge area has a day bed, which can accommodate an additional person.
The kitchen, dining area and lounge area is open plan, with one bathroom to be shared.
A veranda area is available with outdoor furniture and braai facilities.
