The CANSA Care Centre Lowveld is a regional branch of CANSA South Africa and is located in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. Our purpose is to lead the fight against cancer in South Africa and to act as a support group for those affected by cancer in the Lowveld region. The mission of CANSA is to be the preferred non-profit organisation that enables research, educates the public and provides support to all people affected by cancer.
Through our scientific research findings and the knowledge gained, we are able to educate the public by promoting health programmes countrywide, thereby instilling a message of hope and opportunity into the communities.
We provide support and care to cancer survivors and those affected by cancer, enabling them to feel a sense of belonging and comfort. CANSA also has a volunteer project whereby members of the community may get involved in the fight against cancer by sharing their skills and resources with their community.
The Cancer Association of South Africa aims to assist the public in the prevention and early detection of cancer by researching the disease and sharing the powerful knowledge that is gained.
The programmes & campaigns presented by CANSA are based on medical reserach and focus on a balanced diet and lifestyle that includes regular exercise, staying safe in the sun, not smoking, doing regular self-examinations and undergoing regular medical checkups.
